INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING
INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING
Reaching out for counselling can be a big step, and I understand that asking for support is not easy. My hope is to offer a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can bring your whole self. So together, we can gently explore whatever is troubling you at your own pace, working collaboratively to explore your experiences, help you gain greater insight, and support you in finding ways forward that feel right for you.
How I Work
I am an integrative counsellor, and I work within a pluralistic framework, which means I tailor every session to your individual needs by integrating a variety of evidence-based approaches.
Depending on what you need, we might use CBT or Solution-Focused techniques for practical coping strategies, or Person-Centred and Gestalt approaches to explore deeper feelings. I also incorporate Mindfulness and Polyvagal Theory to help regulate the nervous system, alongside Compassion-Focused Therapy and Transactional Analysis to help change negative thought patterns. We might use creative techniques when relevant, particularly with Children and Young People, alongside talking therapy as a way to externalise and gain deeper insight.
Who I Support
I work with Children, Young People and Adults. For those under the age of 16, I will need to gain parental consent from at least one person with parental responsibility.
What to Expect
If you are interested in counselling, please get in contact by filling out the referral form or sending an email or text. I will then suggest arranging an initial telephone or video call at no cost. This provides an opportunity to ask questions, discuss what has brought you to counselling, explore what you hope to achieve, and decide whether we are a good fit to work together. If you would like to continue, we will then book your first session.

Spirituality and Faith
I recognise that for many people, faith and spirituality are central to their identity and wellbeing. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can bring any spiritual or religious beliefs into the room to be explored and respected. Additionally, for clients specifically seeking a Christian Counsellor, I have undertaken additional training with Waverley Abbey College to integrate Christian faith with therapeutic practice. This is available upon request, but entirely optional.
